My Top 5 Restaurants in Downtown Burlington

Updated: Nov 25

Sara Rozalina Pearle Hotel

One of my favourite things about downtown Burlington is the variety of places to eat. I often come downtown to grab a bite or to simply stroll down the promenade and enjoy the scenic lake view. Downtown Burlington, gives me Hallmark vibes with the energy of a small modern suburban city. It has that cozy, small-town feel, while still offering a touch of urban sophistication.

I’m going to share with you five restaurants that have become my favourites in the city, including an honorable mention at the end.

Isabelle Restaurant & Lounge

Isabelle’s is the perfect spot for a romantic date or an upscale evening, especially while sipping a fresh mojito. As you step inside, you're immediately transported to a bright, beachy setting with crisp white interiors, evoking the elegance of Monte Carlo or the class of a major metropolitan city. I simply love the food. It is mostly made of Mediterranean, Californian and Middle Eastern mixtures, further expanding on the coastal vibes of the place. The menu changes seasonally, which makes each visit exciting and new. I will point out that their whipped feta appetizer is tantalizing.

400 Brant Kitchen & Bar

400 Brant is a fairly new restaurant. It is located in a building that is one of the oldest structures in the city (built in 1860), that had operated previously as a hotel. The décor inside the restaurant really deserves a moment. It is quite tasteful, featuring a harmonious blend of green and gold hues, complemented by elegant wall molding and herringbone flooring. I believe this adds to the historical and traditional feel. With their own amazing chef, 400 Brant has an awesome menu, but I will say their 400 Burger is absolutely divine—a must-try for burger lovers.

NISI Greek Taverna

At Nisi, the combination of authentic Greek dishes, waterfront views, and Greek music softly playing in the background transports you straight to the Greek islands. Whether you go for their souvlaki or gyro (made of beef and lamb), you will be happy with either choice. All of their sides taste super homemade, from their roasted potatoes, vegetables, and the best seasoned rice you’ve eaten in your life. Their Greek fries are out of this world. Seriously, you will become Greek simply by eating at Nisi. It’s that good!

Top 5 Restaurants in Downtown Burlington

DiMario's Trattoria

DiMario's Trattoria offers not only incredible Italian cuisine but also an unparalleled fine dining experience. It is my favourite Italian restaurant hidden in a cute corner, near all the action of downtown Burlington. You walk in and it’s a lovely surprise. The interiors are elegant and the waiters truly dote on you, making each meal feel like a special occasion. With delicious pastas, and the most delectable bread and olive oil, this trattoria exudes authenticity and charm, providing the perfect backdrop for an amazing evening.

Pearle's Café

Pearle's Café offers a fresh, modern vibe that feels like a hidden gem in a major city. Known for its delicious pizza, cookies, coffee and sandwiches, it’s the perfect spot to grab a bite while soaking in the laid-back beachy atmosphere. Located inside The Pearle Hotel & Spa, it is the perfect place to get some work done or just unwind with a cup of coffee, Pearle’s provides a welcoming space that encourages creativity and relaxation. Here, I always feel refreshed.

Crema Di Gelato

As for the honorable mention, I have to give it to this gelato shop. A family-run gem, Crema Di Gelato serves up some of the best gelato in Burlington. Made from scratch and tasting just like the gelato in Europe, this quaint shop offers a wide array of flavors, including my favorite the Rocher Ferrero gelato flavour. Whether you're craving a sweet treat on a hot summer day or just want a taste of authentic, handcrafted gelato, Crema Di Gelato is a must-visit for dessert lovers. I cannot recommend it enough.

Downtown Burlington is a hidden gem that many people have yet to discover. With its beautiful waterfront, vibrant dining scene, and small-town charm, it's the kind of place that surprises you with how much it has to offer. I’m in love with Downtown Burlington. Go visit these restaurants and let me know what you think! ||
