Kassandra Kondo - Calm, Cool and Sarcastically Curated

Updated: May 23, 2022

Kassandra Kondo has a name that makes you think of someone who sounds posh, organized, and downright chill. From talking with her, it was a pretty good guess. As a lifestyle blogger and sister to one of Canada’s top bloggers, Krystin Lee, Kassandra Kondo is definitely one to watch out for. Kassandra is out there doing her own thing, and being her unapologetic self.

“I actually got into it [blogging] from my sis, I was on the fence about starting one for the longest time and I just didn’t think I’d be good at it. She told me to try it for a year and if it didn’t work out, at least I gave it a try,” Kassandra said.

“In 2016, I started my blog which was mostly fashion but then evolved into other things such as travel, food, parenting, home décor, etc… I just always made sure my tone and voice was represented no matter what I was posting. Witty, sarcastic humour is my niche, I guess.”

A mother to her son Knox, Kassandra has decided to go freelance with her writing and is constantly working on balancing home and work life.

“The balancing act has been a struggle so if anyone has tips, let me know,” Kassandra shared. “It’s definitely a challenge running your own gig and raising a toddler, but I have a lot of help from my hubby and my family, so they definitely make it possible.”

Kassandra met her husband Kevin through mutual friends and hung out with the same crowds. Until one day— “One day he emailed me out of the blue and told me how he was moving to Ecuador and asked if I’d like to grab a drink with him before he left – so we went for drinks and the rest is now history.” Kassandra said.

As a creator, Kassandra finds inspiration from all over. “Pinterest is always a great starting point, but also the talented women I follow on IG are my inspiration and have been since I’ve started blogging.”

Speaking of inspiration, Kassandra credits her mother to being her best role model for style.

“My mother was always put together and just looked fabulous (even when she woke up). I wasn’t always a fan of fashion or cared about my appearance,” Kassandra said. “I was a major tomboy, always into sports, wore the same clothes literally for days straight and had the worst haircut in high school. It wasn’t until I got my first office job that I started feeling motivated to dress up and put effort into what I was wearing.”

Kassandra is excited about a few upcoming projects she’s got under wraps, including one with Cougar Shoes. While she’s setting things up and getting her creative juices flowing, she has a penchant for pretty cocktails.

“I have a passion for putting together (and drinking) the prettiest cocktails,” Kassandra said. “There’s something about it that makes it so interesting and fun for me, I just love mixing different ingredients and playing around with garnishes.”

Her biggest advice to aspiring creators and bloggers is to just start. “Don’t be afraid to start – my only regret since starting this whole channel was not doing it sooner. Don’t let those feelings of “what if my content isn’t good enough” stop you,” Kassandra shared. “If you love it and feel inspired to post or share it, do it! You’ll be amazed by how much you’ll grow and how many people and fans will be there to support you.”
